The lion stays up nights. He has many females to satisfy. He has to be ready for an attack.
Other males would drive him away from his kingdom, kill him and eat his children.
When we see him sleeping or eating first after a kill we think - "Gee, must be nice."
He's thinking - "Yeah, what do you know?"
